Greg comes to LS9 from Martek Biosciences/ DSM where he was the Senior VP of Operations responsible for the Kingstree, SC and Winchester, KY production and development sites.

Prior to Martek Greg worked for Danisco Genencor where he spent 9 years as Vice President and General Manager for their Bio-products, Ltd. division, specifically overseeing all manufacturing and business operations in their China and India plants. Greg joined Genencor when it was still part of Eastman Kodak and remained an employee of the organization over 30+ years. He performed several significant roles for Genencor as Operations Manager, Plant Manager and Director of Contract Manufacturing.
Over the course of his tenure at Danisco Genencor, in addition to his international exposure, Greg accumulated extensive experience managing microbial fermentation operations and producing food ingredients. Among his more notable accomplishments, Greg managed the successful construction and ramp up of a large scale enzyme production facility in China, where he represented a strong presence with his employees and also with the leaders of Danisco.
Greg Rood is a native of Rochester NY where his family still resides. Greg majored in Chemistry and attended Monroe Community College and Rochester Institute of Technology as well as Notre Dame's Executive Management Certificate Program
