| Description: |
LS9 is searching for an experienced molecular biologist.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in LS9's Metabolic
Engineering Group. He/she will assist in the development of bacterial
strains through the use of molecular biology and metabolic engineering.
He/she should possess a general knowledge of the principles of
molecular and microbiology and as well as practical experience in
basic molecular biology metabolic engineering, and strain development
techniques.
The successful candidate for this position will have the ability,
desire, and motivation to integrate their skill set into a dynamic
R&D program that includes pioneering metabolic engineering of
microorganisms to produce biofuels and chemicals. |
| Position Requirements: |
- BS / MS degree in molecular biology, microbiology or related field with 5 or more years of experience
- Proficiency with common molecular biology techniques, strain construction, gene knockouts, protein expression, microbiological techniques and good laboratory practices
- Genetic manipulations in bacteria or other microorganisms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to present clear and concise data from experimental results
- Well honed analytical skills and computer proficiency
- Able to critically and objectively analyze results and present conclusions
- Effective working independently and as an integral team member
