LS9, THE RENEWABLE PETROLEUM COMPANY, ADDS KEY POSITIONS TO EXECUTIVE TEAM AND SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD

LS9, Inc., the Renewable Petroleum Company™, today announced the addition of two key members of its executive team: Wei Huang has been named the company's Vice President of Process Development and Engineering, and Christopher Stone has been named the company's Vice President of Legal Affairs.

Wei Huang, who was previously Director of Process Engineering at Fluor Corporation, one of the world's largest, publicly-owned engineering companies, will oversee the company's process engineering and scale-up of DesignerBiofuels™ products. Ms. Huang brings more than 17 years of experience in process development, scale up and product commercialization for the biotechnology and chemical industries. Her expertise in facility and equipment design and operations support will be critical in the company's production and commercialization of advanced biofuels.

Also, to ensure the company's strong leadership in intellectual property, patents, and strategic partnerships, Christopher Stone has joined the LS9 management team to oversee the company's legal affairs. Mr. Stone brings 17 years of legal, intellectual property, and transaction experience, including 12 years working in the industrial biotechnology sector. Prior to joining LS9, Mr. Stone held the roles of Vice President, Intellectual Assets at Danisco A/S and Vice President, General Patent Counsel at Genencor International, Inc. Mr. Stone's responsibilities at the company will include intellectual property protection and management, contract negotiation and drafting, participation in business operations and strategic planning, and litigation management.

In addition, LS9 has expanded its scientific advisory board to further development of Renewable Petroleum™ technology with the addition of distinguished scientists Dr. John Cronan and Dr. Uwe Sauer. Dr. Cronan is Alumni Professor of Microbiology and Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and also serves as Head of the Department of Microbiology. He pioneered genetic approaches to understanding the mechanisms and regulation of bacterial lipid metabolism and is a leading expert on fatty acid biosynthesis. Dr. Uwe Sauer is Professor of Systems Biology in the Department of Biology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He is a well-recognized expert on central metabolism of bacteria and yeast.
